About the show: Based on Roald Dahl’s novel, the world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious chocolate factory…but only to a lucky few. Five golden ticket winners embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination, including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas!

**Note: Student and Public Matinees may be added after casting. 

Rehearsals are from 2:00pm – 10:00pm Tuesday – Friday and various times at the weekends. We may rehearse up to 42 hours a week. Your schedule and hours will vary depending on the size of the role. Youth receive a one-time $175 stipend for the run. Teen Ensemble receives a one-time $350 stipend for the run. Each of the roles listed below will be double cast and will perform on a rotating schedule to be determined by the creative team.

Please bring these filled-out forms with you to your appointment! Video submissions are not being accepted unless given written approval from the CFRT casting team. If you do not have a headshot, please do not go out and pay for one! Just snap a quick photo of your child from the shoulders up, with a clear look at their face.  

What to prepare: Please prepare the song & sides provided for the role of your choice. Accompaniment/plunk tracks can be found here! 

ROLES: 

Charlie Bucket (age 10-14): Sweet, smart, hopeful and loving with wonderful innocence and vulnerability. He is wonderfully innocent. Charlie is in nearly every scene, and the actor should be able to handle the demands of a sizable role.

Mike Teavee (age 10-14): A fireplug with a ridiculous amount of energy. He is obsessed with all types of technology and is a hacker as well! He is bratty, loud and obnoxious and does not understand the word “no.”
