Student Matinee Series

Bring your students to see a special 10am show at the theatre as part of the school day! Tickets start at $10 + tax per student, and for every 10 tickets you purchase you receive one free educator ticket! This program is sponsored by The Thorp Family Youth Engagement Fund established by the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust, and the United Way of Cumberland County’s Youth Growth Stock Trust. 

As we embark on our exciting renovation & expansion project, Footloose will be the final show in our current building, and the rest of our 24/25 season will take place at 1707 Owen Drive. To learn more about this project, click here!

About the show: Join Ren and his mother as they move from Chicago to a small farming town, encountering strict rules like a ban on dancing enforced by the local preacher. When Ren meets the preacher’s rebellious daughter, sparks fly, leading to a battle for reputation and freedom! Explore the heartfelt narrative of a father longing for his lost son and a young man yearning for his absent father. Experience this captivating tale 40 years after the film’s release!

About the show: For seven (increasingly eventful) years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School to and ended up conquering evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. Laugh along as this magical parody uses 11 actors play more than 30 roles, including “Lord Voldy”, “A Certain Potions Teacher”, and “Professor McG”. If you loved a certain series that we cannot name, you will love Puffs!

About the show: In this hilarious classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids, probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem (and the fun) when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on! We have four casts of youth from our community performing in this Fayetteville favorite. If you are looking for a chance to spend an hour of quality time with your family, take them to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!

About the show: Based on Roald Dahl’s novel, the world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious chocolate factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas!

About the show: The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, Miss Clairee, and M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a “good ole boy.” This hilarious show draws on the underlying strength—and love—between this iconic group of Southern women.
